The 2010 ASM @ Malaysia PRO Qualifying School to be staged during the 2010 ASM @ Malaysia
The PRO Qualifying School is open to amateur golfers who are at least 50 years of age as at 1st July 2010, who may wish to qualify to become a member of the Asian Seniors PGA Tour and to play in AST professional golf tournaments in the future.
It will cost RM 3,500 to enter and play in the 2010 ASM @ Malaysia PRO Qualifying School will be conducted on Sunday 4th, Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th July 2010 during the 2010 ASM @ Malaysia - Professional Tournament where the PRO Qualifier will play as an amateur with no entitlement to prize money.
In order to QUALIFY to become a member of the Asian Seniors PGA Tour the PRO Qualifier must shoot no more than 12 over par during the course of the 3 day Qualifying School, and having done so it will cost a further SG$ 500 in membership fees to join the Asian Seniors PGA Tour.
The RM 3,500 entry fees for the 2010 ASM @ Malaysia PRO Qualifying School includes –
a. 7 nights hotel accommodation (at the venue golf club) and includes daily breakfast;
b. all green, caddy and buggy fees for your practice rounds on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd July 2010
Saturday 3rd July 2010 is a rest day
c. all green, buggy and caddy fees the 1st day of Q School on Sunday 4th July 2010
d. all green, buggy and caddy fees on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th July 2010 during the 2 day ASM @ Malaysia professional tournament and these 2 rounds will be the 2nd & 3rd day of Q School. Lunch will be provided on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th July 2010
We wish you every success during the AS PGA Tour Q School – Malaysia where you will be required to return a score of no more than 12 over par over 3 rounds in order to qualify.
Following the ASM @ Malaysia we will be staging the – US$ 10,000 purse ASM @ Singapore on the 8th & 9th July 2010 where if you have successfully qualified and become a member of the Asian Seniors PGA Tour you will then be entitled to contest the event as a professional golfer for prize money.
ASM @ Singapore Pro-Am – Thursday 8th July 2010
ASM @ Singapore – professional tournament – Friday 9th July 2010
Asian Seniors PGA Tour Member entry fees for the ASM @ Singapore will be under SG$ 500 which currently includes all green and buggy fees and lunch when playing in the Pro-Am and during the professional tournament BUT excludes hotel accommodation. Participants are required to organize and arrange for both their accommodation and daily transportation to and from Warren GCC.
In the unfortunate event that you have been unsuccessful at the ASM @ Malaysia PRO Qualifying School and should you so desire you may still participate as an amateur golfer paying the SG$ 600 entry fee with no rights to any prize money.
In addition and alternatively you can try once more to qualify to become an Asian Seniors PGA Tour member by playing in the ASM @ Indonesia (Batam) PRO Qualifying School to be conducted on Sunday 11th, Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th July 2010.
It will cost SG$ 1,500 to enter and play in the ASM @ Indonesia (Batam) PRO Qualifying School to be conducted on Sunday 11th, Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th July 2010 during the 2010 ASM @ Indonesia (Batam) – Professional Tournament where the PRO Qualifier will play as an amateur with no entitlement to prize money.
The SG$ 1,500 entry fees for the 2010 ASM @ Indonesia (Batam) PRO Qualifying School includes –
a. 4 nights hotel accommodation at Batam View Beach Resort and includes daily breakfast and transportation to and from golf club;
b. all green, buggy & caddy fees for your practice round on Saturday 10th July 2010
c. all green, buggy & caddy fees on the 1st day of Q School on Sunday 11th July 2010 (where you will play in a Pro-Am and post game meal will be provided);
d. all green, buggy & caddy fees on Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th July 2010 during the 2 day ASM @ Indonesia professional tournament where the PRO Qualifier will play as an amateur with no entitlement to prize money, and these 2 rounds will be the 2nd & 3rd day of Q School. Lunch will be provided on Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th July 2010

Those eligible to attend the 2010 ASM @ Malaysia PRO Qualifying School
(subject to AST approval) include:
Senior Professional golfers who are NOT current members of a PGA, and any male amateur golfer aged 50 or older with a current maximum handicap of five (5) between Jan - June 2009.
The 2010 ASM @ Malaysia PRO Qualifying School will be limited to a maximum of 12 players.
Loss of Amateur Status if participating in the 2010 ASM @ Malaysia PRO Qualifying School
Amateur golfers may enter and play in the PRO Qualifying tournament(s) without forfeiture of their amateur status.
At future AST events the successful Amateur golfers may enter and play in the various Asian Senior Master professional tournament(s) as an AST - Professional without forfeiture of their amateur status, provided in advance and in writing they waive their right to any prize money on offer at the event.
This is done by completing and signing the ASM Prize Money waiver form when entering an ASM tournament.
Amateur golfers who fail to do so are in breach of the rules of Amateur Status. Otherwise, the breach occurs when having qualified, they accept an offer of, or apply for, AST membership.
Please ask for the Prize money waiver form obtainable from the Tournament Directors Office.
Successful amateur participants in the PRO Qualifying tournament who may wish to retain their Amateur Status will be made Honourary Pro - Amateur Members of the AST.
Reinstatement to Amateur Status can be applied for via your Country - County - State Golf Association. A period awaiting reinstatement of between 3 and 24 months can apply, depending on the circumstances.
