The Srixon Desaru Classic 09 presented by the Oxley Capital Group is hailed as Malaysia's and one of Asia's leading men's amateur open stroke play golf tournament.
The top 5 Best Gross scoring golfers from each of the 18 qualifying legs staged across Malaysia, plus sponsor's and VIP's, some 130 amateur golfers in all participated in the Grand Finals of the Srixon Desaru Classic 09 presented by the Oxley Capital Group staged on the 15th & 16th of August 09 where they were joined by qualifying teams representing Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei.

Rules & Regulations
1) The Grand Finals of the Srixon Desaru Classic 09 presented by the Oxley Capital Group is a 2 day Stroke Play event.
2) Participants must play with Srixon golf balls ONLY! any type Srixon golf ball may be used, and must be declared on the first T Box, failure to do so will result in disqualification.
3) In the event that a Hole in 1 is achieved at the hole where the LMG – Trekker SUV is offered as the prize, this prize will be shared equally between other participants from the Srixon Desaru Classic 09 presented by the Oxley Capital Group series who may have also achieved a Hole in 1
4) All play shall be in accordance with the rules of golf as approved by the R&A Golf Club of St. Andrews, the USGA and the prevailing local rules of the respective golf clubs.
* The Overall Gross Champion wins a place in 2010 Asian Tour Qualifying School a sponsor's invitation to participate in an ASEAN PGA Tour tournament and a place in the 2009 Asian Senior Masters @ Singapore Amateur Semi-Finals in December 09
* The Champion, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th runners up Best Gross Scoring participants – win places in the 2009 Asian Senior Masters @ Singapore Pro-Ams to be staged from 30 Nov - 6 December 09
